About The Position

Responsible for the maintenance of equipment and vehicles owned by the Hot Springs Village Property Owners' Association. Requires valid Arkansas driver's license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and/or Automotive Vocational training Required.
  • Five years of experience in the mechanical repair and maintenance of light and heavy gasoline and diesel driven automotive, construction, small engine, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Five years’ experience in all phases of arc and gas welding.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills, ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment and basic computer competencies required.
  • Must be able to operate vehicles and equipment for problem diagnosis (valid driver license and CDL required).
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
  • Requires a valid Arkansas driver's license, and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain the following licenses.
  • Arkansas CDL Class B with Tanker endorsement or be able to obtain this within 6-months

  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • May be required to work extended hours and/or in adverse weather conditions in critical or emergency circumstances
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use dexterity, requiring a steady hand, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Motor vehicle inspection license or be able to obtain this within 30 days

Responsibilities

  • Train and supervise employees in diagnosis, analyzing malfunctions, and all repair work on vehicles and equipment.
  • Plan and supervise work methods and procedures.
  • Responsible for purchasing all parts, supplies and fuels, using purchase order system.
  • Maintain a reasonable inventory of parts for units, to minimize down time.
  • Work with Fleet Asset Manager to prepare annual budget.
  • Troubleshoot and repair light mechanical issues that may include wheel-end assemblies, electrical systems, suspensions, A/C, or engine components.
  • Responsible for all daily labor, material and fuel allocations.
  • Train and supervise employees in arc and gas welding, brazing, and soldering.
  • Fabricate special tools and parts when practical.
  • Responsible for scheduling vehicles and equipment for preventative maintenance.
  • Establish maintenance and repair priorities.
  • Maintain repair records on all vehicles and equipment.
  • Assign, monitor and evaluate the work performed by employees.
  • Be personally involved in repair work.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Fleet Manager.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working environment, insuring all employees use proper safety equipment and techniques.
