About The Position

Aldridge is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Shop Manager to join our talented team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting daily operations of a fleet repair shop by coordinating work between shops and road mechanics, maintaining inventory sheets and compliance programs, and ensuring accurate documentation and workflow. This role is highly organized, hands-on, and critical to keeping equipment serviced, compliant, and ready for deployment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated ability to stay highly organized and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Basic computer skills and general software competency
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Working technical knowledge of fleet and equipment maintenance

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a fleet, equipment, or automotive repair environment is preferred
  • Experience with maintenance management or work order systems is preferred
  • Supervisory or lead experience in a shop or field environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with road and shop mechanics to prioritize and schedule service requests
  • Monitor and manage the yard inventory status, as well as the status of equipment and trucks
  • Inventory the tool cage and track shop tools daily
  • Distribute and track vehicle registrations issued to road mechanics
  • Maintain specialty equipment files and related documentation
  • Collect, document, and process auction inventory
  • Review and approve employee time sheets
  • Create, assign, and track work orders for both shop and road mechanics
