Position Summary: As a Part-Time Fleet Maintenance Coordinator, you will ensure the City’s vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for service. You’ll handle a mix of hands-on light mechanical work, administrative tracking, and vendor coordination. Key Responsibilities: While the City contracts out major mechanical work, you serve as the primary liaison between City departments and service providers to ensure the fleet stays on the road.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and repair tools.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with city staff and vendors.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License (Class R) and a good driving history required.
  • 3-5 years of fleet maintenance experience or substantially equivalent positions with other public agencies or private contractors.
  • Must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and driving record check prior to commencing employment.
  • Must be able to obtain CJIS Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for scheduling routine inspections and preventative maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services) with external vendors.
  • Coordinate with shops and contractors for major repairs, ensuring work is completed timely and to City standards.
  • Respond to vehicle complaints and perform basic troubleshooting to determine if a vehicle needs to be sent out for professional repair.
  • Perform simple, "quick-fix" tasks in-house (e.g., checking levels or minor bulbs) to maintain immediate fleet availability.
  • Review completed vendor work orders to ensure all requested maintenance was performed correctly and document all services and parts in the asset management system to maintain accurate fleet records.
  • Maintain accurate records for licensing, registration, and insurance.
