About The Position

As a Fleet Maintenance Tractor Technician, A Level, you will be responsible for performing core elements of fleet maintenance primarily with Tractor assets, but will include exposure to other fleet assets within the operations. This role involves performing and troubleshooting preventative maintenance and repairs, effectively completing work orders, and supporting shop projects to optimize asset up-time and productivity. The technician is expected to work safely and embody the company's safety culture. Benefits are available from day one. The schedule is Tuesday-Friday 07:30 AM-04:00 PM and Saturday 05:00 AM- 01:30 PM. Compensation starts at $26.54-$36.00, depending on skill set and experience.

Requirements

  • Base understanding of mechanical principles and aptitude to complete repairs on Heavy Duty equipment with moderate instruction
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance systems, commercial truck components, driver D.O.T. regulations
  • Familiarity with Transman and understanding of VMRS
  • Pride in high work quality and high attention to detail and accuracy
  • 5-7 years of mechanical exposure and understanding of principles of Internal Combustion Engines and previous work experience is strongly recommended
  • High School Diploma - General Studies
  • Knowledge of KPIs, Safety & Sanitation, Training & Development, Values & Teamwork, Warranty

Responsibilities

  • Conduct asset inspection by item level task with oversight
  • Complete small repairs, post PM inspection
  • Ensure successful inspection post PM completion for completeness and within parameters
  • Perform FHWA successfully (with shadow)
  • Perform diagnostics of Volvo equipment, and Tech ll diagnostics software
  • Participate in supporting other technicians to glean skills and expertise
  • Follow ongoing cycle of reading, classroom environment, observe expert executing repair and then demonstrate skill and proficiency for each critical learning by system
  • Work closely with tenured technician to learn technical aspect of the job
  • Read, study and test modules or chapters of technical materials
  • Successfully certify at test level and demonstrate technical Competency
  • Complete ongoing Manufacturer training/certification
  • Support shop projects and related tasks to optimize asset up-time and productivity
  • Complete work-orders for thoroughness and detailed history to demonstrate Complaint, Cause and Correction
