We specialize in light-, medium-, and heavy-duty towing, heavy transport, and auto salvage. Our team is committed to excellence, safety, and supporting our community. Stepp’s Towing & Heavy Transport is seeking experienced Fleet Diesel Mechanics and Preventive Maintenance Techs to join our team. We’re looking for candidates with a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel vehicles, including heavy trucks, buses, and equipment. This role ensures that all vehicles meet safety and performance standards through thorough inspections, troubleshooting, and routine service tasks. The ideal candidate will document issues and corrective actions, perform test drives to verify repairs, and maintain a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Requirements
- Prior fleet diesel mechanical experience required
- MUST be able to pass a background check and drug test
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel vehicles
- Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, clutches, suspension, steering, and more
- Inspect heavy trucks, buses, and equipment for safe operation
- Document issues and corrective actions
- Conduct routine maintenance such as wheel alignment and oil changes
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper function
