The Fleet Coordinator sets a preventative maintenance schedule and tracks the completion of these maintenance tasks by external vendors, such as mechanics. The Fleet Coordinator will also maintain our inventory of spare parts and tires in case of emergency repairs and assist with the purchase or lease of replacement vehicles.

Requirements

  • DOT Compliance
  • Possess excellent verbal/written communication skills and cultural sensitivity
  • Must be bilingual (English-Spanish)
  • Experience in safety regulatory compliance
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Ability to multitask, and manage several jobs at once
  • Attention to detail
  • Quick learner with a positive can-do attitude

Responsibilities

  • Maintain OSHA compliance with HIPP
  • Carry out periodic fleet inspections to insure compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety standards
  • Report and ensure that unsafe working conditions are corrected
  • Ensure proper use of PPE on every job performed
  • Organize, calculate and submit travel expenses (knowledge of calculating current exchange rates)
  • Ensures fleet efficiency by scheduling PM’s, campaigns & recalls, receiving break down reports, contacting appropriate repair facilities by notifying the necessary personnel of repair time frames on assigned trucks and trailers
  • Provides administrative and clerical support by typing correspondence, filing and distributing documents
  • Fully and accurately complete the vehicle check-in/out
  • Generate repair orders and check warranty status
  • Perform other safety related functions as directed by the Dir. Of EHS & Transportation
  • Works with external vendors, including mechanics, to ensure necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintains inventory of spare parts and tires
  • Monitors the fuel levels of DPG’s fleet
  • Conduct DVIR’s on a monthly basis and complete any and all follow-ups as needed
  • Ensure DOT compliance
  • Complete any and all special projects as assigned by management
