About The Position

General SummaryTo support the General Accounting Department in the development of financial tools and systems for the proper presentation of fixed asset financial transactions (determination of depreciation, timely settlement and organization of assets under construction, maintenance of the fixed asset sub ledger, organization of the fixed asset physical inventory including support for the tagging process, fixed asset accounts payable data entry, etc.)Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide support to management and operations related to fixed asset and investment transactions. Responsible for master data maintenance of fixed assets (asset number maintenance, Assets Under Construction and order number maintenance, depreciation method and asset life maintenance). Responsible for management of asset settlement from Assets Under Construction for completed projects (in proper asset class and useful life) as well as coordinating proper cost classification. Review & verify pertinent information on the settlement templates (i.e., class, PO, invoice, project, service date, CC, etc. Maintain documentation to support the Annual Business Plan assumptions for variance explanations. Annual physical inventory documentation, audit of assigned departments inventory results Collection and analysis of  the supplemental investment plan and templates from departments and the project management team. Review for proper classification as an investment project, proper class and depreciable life. Assist in the preparation of instructional guidelines/presentations when areas of concern are identified for use in communicating with departments. Process FA transfers and supplement requests ensuring that proper approvals have been obtained and transfers between projects are minimal if at all. Assist in the enforcement of the power of delegation in terms of investment-related approvals. Create Executed Internal Orders (EIOs) & AUC number assignments for PRs deemed to be investment-related purchases; track the budget release and support Autoway approvals. Compile, summarize, analyze and provide any additional ad hoc reports as needed. Assist or prepare the monthly Fixed Asset Financials. Monitor & control distribution of asset tags. Prepare monthly FA/Depreciation/Roll Forward reports for internal & external use. Responsible for the completion and periodic updating of desk level procedures for the Fixed Asset Area. Monthly Document Scanning Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset share-drive folders. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the Accounting field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to comprehend and comply with general divisional policies and procedures in conducting day to day accounting and administrative responsibilities.
  • General knowledge of accounting and finance principles and methods.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
