About The Position

As a Fixed Asset Accountant, you will be responsible for the management and administration of the company's fixed assets, including overseeing the capital investment program. You will report to the Director of Management Accounting.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of fixed assets accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics
  • Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables and perform VLOOKUPs
  • Experience with general ledger and month-end processes
  • SAP experience
  • IFRS experience

Nice To Haves

  • SOX experience is highly preferred, as the company IPO'd in the past year

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business investment projects for compliance with company policies and IFRS guidelines.
  • Monitor capital spending and ensure proper accounting and classification of fixed assets.
  • Ensure timely closing and classification of completed capital projects.
  • Maintain various databases and reporting formats, collaborating with the Financial Planning and Analysis group on forecasting.
  • Provide support to non-accounting personnel in the business centers on various capital accounting issues.
  • Perform the month-end close of the fixed assets ledger for multiple legal entities, including calculating depreciation using the current ERP system, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Produce and review monthly reporting, such as fixed asset roll forwards, capital expenditure reports, disposals, and other financial reports to ensure accurate and prompt results.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes and ensure policy and procedural consistency across the enterprise.
  • Conduct fixed asset audit and verification activities at company locations to evaluate and ensure consistency with the fixed asset ledger.
  • Participate in interim and year-end external audit processes, collaborating directly with the external audit firm.
  • Perform technical research on IFRS and contribute to the development of companywide financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for all product lines.
