Requirements

NFPA Firefighter I & II
Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations
EMT or EMR certification (Indiana or National Registry)
Out-of-state certifications must be transferable to Indiana within 90 days of hire
Ability to meet and maintain all applicable state, county, and local certification requirements
Ability to meet the physical and certification requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

Respond to fire, medical, hazardous materials, weather, and facility emergencies
Perform fire suppression using fire apparatus, hydrants, hose stations, and extinguishers
Conduct rescue operations, including vehicle, machinery, and high- and low-angle rescues
Provide medical response including patient care, triage, stabilization, and transport
Communicate incident details with dispatch, supervisors, and medical personnel
Assist with hazardous materials spill containment
Conduct patrols, escorts, access control, and safety monitoring as needed
Complete required reports, logs, and documentation
