Shifts with 24 hrs on and 48 hrs off. The Position Under general direction, you will perform essential public safety work involving the protection of life and property. This role requires responding to emergency incidents, performing fire suppression, providing high-level emergency medical care, and engaging in fire code enforcement, public education, and station maintenance. This opportunity is specifically for experienced professionals. All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: Work Experience: Must have served and met all requirements as a Firefighter for 12 months and been confirmed.
Requirements

- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Kentucky EMT Certification.
- Must possess and maintain HAZ-MAT Operations and Technician Level certifications.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Kentucky Driver's License.
Nice To Haves
- Successful candidates who achieve EMT-P status may be eligible for paramedic duties and the associated $8,800 Paramedic Incentive Pay.
Responsibilities
- Emergency Response: Operate fire apparatus and equipment to perform fire suppression, rescue, and essential public service functions.
- Advanced Medical Care: Perform duties associated with providing emergency medical care to the sick and injured, administering necessary medications, and following departmental SOPs/protocols. Must successfully complete yearly competency testing for high-risk procedures.
- Technical Rescue: Respond to hazardous materials incidents and perform functions related to the level of certification (HAZ-MAT Operations and Technician Level).
- Training & Mentoring: Attend all mandatory in-service training and mentor/evaluate other employees and students during probationary periods and internships.
