About The Position

Manage the operations of the Fire Sprinkler Inspections Department. To manage the technical and administrative personnel within the Department. To achieve financial and operational goals of the Inspections Department including revenue generation, cost control, and gross margin contribution. To ensure a high level of customer satisfaction for customers. To ensure the proper training and safe working procedures of Fire Sprinkler technical personnel and to abide by the policies specified in the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual. This position reports to the Fire Sprinkler Department Manager. The Fire Sprinkler Inspections Manager will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the Inspections Department. The Manager will supervise technical personnel to achieve operational goals. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction. The Manager is also responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for technical personnel and for ensuring that they are properly trained.

Requirements

  • Possess any necessary licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience either in the fire protection industry or the commercial customer service business; minimum 2 years demonstrated leadership or management experience preferred.
  • NICET or equivalent training from manufacturers or institutions.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA codes.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Proficiency with using PCs including working knowledge of MS Excel / Word as well as iPhone/iPad apps.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Willingness to travel out of town including overnight lodging.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • A strong work ethic and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision.
  • Strong organizational & prioritization skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

  • Industry licensing or certification of competency with fire sprinkler systems

Responsibilities

  • Work with the District General Manager, Department Manager and other managers to develop financial and operational goals.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the Inspections Department and the efficiency of related personnel.
  • Establish productivity goals for technical goals that fit in with the tactical priorities of the Department.
  • Achieve the assigned monthly goals for revenue and cost control and correct any budgetary deficiencies.
  • Lead the technical personnel in providing a high level of customer service.
  • Ensure that the technical personnel are highly trained in our services and products as well as safety.
  • Learn and ensure compliance with all applicable industry codes and jurisdictions.
  • Protect the company’s assets.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the District General Manager or Managing Member.
