Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
  • Security Guard License and either FDNY Cert. T-89, F-89, S-95 with Active Shooter & Medical Emergency Preparedness is required
  • At least 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in related field is required
  • Must be available to work overnight (midnight to 8am shift), Thursday to Monday.
  • Must have good verbal/written communication skills, strong customer service, and analytical skills.
  • Computer knowledge of W2000, XP, Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Problem solving, customer service, oral communication, teamwork, diversity, ethics treats people with respect.
  • Follows policy and procedure, planning, organizing prioritizes work efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintenance of the Fire Alarm System and all related equipment; maintaining the general condition of the Fire Command Center.
  • Generating, filing, and distributing accurate incident reports and investigating all incidents.
  • Preparing and submitting detailed incident reports to the Life Safety/Security.
  • Reviewing all daily log entries regarding fire prevention and maintaining Fire Department logbooks as specified by Local Law No.5 & 26; to ensure that proper procedures are being followed.
  • Assist FDNY personnel with inspections.
  • Capable of training all Fire Wardens, Deputy Fire Wardens, Searchers, and Building Fire Brigade; manage the Fire Wardens/Deputy Wardens sign-in logs and Organization Charts; schedule and conduct all building Fire/EAP drills; direct evacuation procedures.
  • Conduct monthly communication testing of the Fire Alarm System with central station; conduct semi-annual testing of the Fire Alarm System signaling and initiating devices per code; conduct daily inspection of the building for fire prevention and protection; conduct all inspections and testing whether per NYC code or company policy.
  • Follows all posted orders as assigned.
  • Monitoring computerized Access Control, CCTV Systems and responding to intrusion and Hold-Up (panic) alarms.
  • Monitoring and responding to the Building Intercom System.
  • Remain aware and alert at all times to potential security breaches.
  • Provide pertinent information to the Fire Department during emergencies and routine visits/inspections maintenance of all Fire Extinguishers systems; conduct the monthly Elevator Recall Phase I and Firemen Service Phase II.
  • Monthly inspection of portable Fire Extinguishers.
  • Enforcement of all security and life safety policies, rules, and procedures, which are set forth by Building Management & Tenant.
  • Processing and accessing tenants and visitors into the building daily, this includes validating of ID cards and recording the information on sign-in sheets and issuing building passes
  • Providing clear direction, information and assistance to client visitors, guests, vendors, and employees in a professional, pleasant and courteous fashion on a regular basis and during emergency situations.
