About The Position

Join our YMCA family as a Part-Time Fire Relief Coordinator! Are you passionate about building a healthy, vibrant community? Do you thrive on creating positive connections with people? The Fire Relief Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting YMCA Community Fire Relief locations, as part of our fire response efforts. This position is focused on coordinating relief efforts for individuals and families impacted by recent fires. The Fire Relief Coordinator will work to oversee the intake, organization, and distribution of donations, as well as manage volunteers and collaborate with community partners. This is an opportunity to directly impact lives through compassionate service, efficient logistics, and collaborative leadership in a time of great need.

Requirements

AGE: Eighteen years or older
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
RELATED EXPERIENCE: Experience working with similar programs
SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Strong character values, communication skills, emotional maturity, and problem-solving mindset
One or more years' experience in program implementation
One or more years in project coordination or volunteer coordination
Proven ability to manage logistics and multi-site coordination during emergency response efforts.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a trauma-informed approach.
Experience in leading volunteer teams and working with diverse community groups.
Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
High level of organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Current Adult & Pediatric First Aid/AED/CPR Certification from ASHI, American Red Cross or American Heart Association or willingness to obtain the certification.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily relief operations at YMCA Community Fire Relief locations supporting those impacted by the fires
Receive, sort, organize, and distribute in-kind donations (clothing, food, hygiene supplies, etc.)
Maintain donation inventory systems and procedures.
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers assisting with fire relief efforts.
Work collaboratively with center directors, staff leaders, and community partners to meet immediate needs of affected families.
Serve as the primary point of contact for fire relief efforts at designated YMCA centers.
Ensure safety, dignity, and confidentiality in service delivery to impacted individuals.
Track and report key data related to donations, distributions, and volunteer participation.
Support internal communication and awareness around fire relief programs and initiatives.
Help implement YMCA communications and outreach efforts regarding fire relief services.
