The Role Design, develop and maintain the organization’s Emergency Preparedness Program and procedures for the facility and its equipment. Coordinate with RadCon and the Fire Emergency Planning Team on all fire drills that require firefighter participation, ensuring fire drill scenarios meet the tactics, training and physical requirements for firefighter safety. Review industry trends for best practices in fire prevention, extinguishment and training and ensure firefighter training requirements meet or exceed all OSHA and NFPA training standards. Coordinates with all in yard naval vessel DCAs to ensure emergency firefighting equipment for each vessel is staged, inventoried and maintained in ready response status. Prepares MOU/MOA for arriving ships regarding fire drills and responsibilities. Liaison with local Fire Department Training Officers, Fire Marshals and Ship's Fire Marshal for drill planning, training assistance and command & control familiarity. Leads a project team to plan, schedule and conduct a wide range of complex facility/or site Emergency Preparedness drills and exercises. Provides coordination with local, State and Federal Emergency Planners.
