The Fire Plans Examiner position reviews building and fire protection plans and specifications to ensure compliance with minimum requirements of adopted codes and ordinances. Verifies completeness and accuracy of submittals and approves completed documents within assigned time frames. Advises property owners, architects, contractors, builders and engineers on matters related to adopted codes and Town ordinances. Work includes reviewing architectural drawings, fire protection system submittals, and related documents; inspecting projects of varying complexity; and advising design professionals, contractors, business owners, and Town staff. The role requires clear communication of findings, preparation of accurate documentation, and collaboration with other agencies. Field inspections, customer service, and support at emergency scenes may be required.
