About The Position

The Village of Ashwaubenon is accepting applications for a full-time Fire Marshal. Ashwaubenon is a vibrant suburb of Green Bay surrounding historic Lambeau Field. While just 18,409 residents call it home, this regional hub to shop, work, and play grows to 35,000 or more during the day. While it is a football town at heart and the Green Bay Packers are an active member of the community, a large regional shopping district, the Resch Center (sports and entertainment arena), the Resch Expo (exposition hall), a performing arts center, a competitive collegiate baseball, and soccer stadium and the Epic Event Center (concert venue), provide loads of entertainment to both locals and tourists year-round. Under general supervision of the Commander of Fire Operations, the Fire Marshall performs and/or directs work related to fire prevention services to include performing fire inspections, special event inspections, hazardous materials and management of the fire inspection reporting system. The Fire Marshall may also assist with fire investigation. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all required annual inspections and follow-up inspections are completed in accordance with Wisconsin statutes.

Requirements

• minimum of 5 years of firefighting experience
• 3 years of fire inspection experience
• associate degree in Fire Science, fire protection, or related field
• WI Firefighter I & II certification(s)
• Certified or willing to obtain the IAAI-FIT certification within 18 months of hire
