About The Position
State Fire is a trusted name in fire protection, keeping businesses and people safe across multiple states. We install and service fire alarms, suppression systems, security solutions, and more. Right now, we’re looking for a Fire Extinguisher Shop Technician to join our team. Experience is great, but not required—we provide full training. If you’re willing to learn, we’re willing to teach! What You’ll Do Inspect, service, and recharge fire extinguishers to NFPA 10 standards Handle dry chemical powder recovery and refilling Perform basic weight, pressure, and component checks Identify damage, corrosion, or compliance issues Operate recharge equipment safely and keep the work area clean Tag, label, and document serviced extinguishers Follow safety procedures and assist shop or field teams as needed
Requirements
- Ability to use hand and battery-operated tools.
- Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently.
- Strong communication skills in English—both written and verbal.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime and travel overnight when needed.
- Obtain a Utah Fire Extinguisher License within 60 days of hire
- Work on ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
- Lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
