As the Fire Equipment Technician, you will test, inspect, repair, maintain and keep clean self-contained breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Units, Halon Service, Air Monitors, Fire Hose/ Nozzle/ Appliance, Fire Apparatus, Small Engine Repair, Ladder, Compressors, SCBA Cylinders, A-Level & B-Level Suites, J-Fire Masks and Hurst/Holmatro Hydraulic Tools. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Hurst and Holmatro Hydraulic Rescue Tools: Service, clean, test, and check all functions, valves, pressure relief valves, hydraulic pumps, prime movers (gas, diesel or electric) for wear/damage; and service and pressure test before returning to service. Cylinders: Perform inspections, testing, maintenance and recertification (Hydrostatic Test) of all components of MSA Air Carts including batteries, full electronic testing of pressure sensitive alarms, all cylinders are visually inspected, repair outer jackets if found to be damaged, pressure gauges are test and refilled (glycol) if needed, all valves are operationally tested and serviced if worn. Compressors: Inspect, test, and perform maintenance of SCBA compressors and refill stations, storage trailers and gas boosters or decanting systems. Service motor/engines, purification/drying systems, controls, air/gas storage systems, charging stations, and air monitoring equipment. A-Level and B-Level Suits & J-Fire Masks. Conduct visual inspections, testing, perform preventative maintenance and cleaning for the J-Fire CW Mask. Inspect, service, test, and re-certify all level A and Level B suits.
