About The Position

Honeywell is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician to support a large, long-term national project based in Phoenix, AZ . In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems in complex environments. This position is highly hands-on and field-based, requiring strong technical expertise and a commitment to safety, quality, and code compliance. Following completion of the Phoenix project (approximately 1–2 years ), the technician must be open to traveling to other U.S. project locations as business needs require.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm systems or fire protection
  • Experience commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting VESDA systems
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes, local fire regulations, and industry standards
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 90%

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or formal training in Fire Protection Technology, Electrical Engineering, Networking, or a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise installing, programming, and maintaining complex fire alarm systems
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance to junior technicians
  • Industry certifications such as NICET Fire Alarm Systems and/or state fire alarm licenses
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Support a major national project in Phoenix, AZ for 1–2 years; following completion, travel to U.S. job sites up to 90%
  • Program, configure, and test fire alarm control panels and related devices
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure operational readiness and code compliance
  • Oversee subcontractors and perform quality checks in accordance with customer requirements and regulatory standards
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and applicable fire codes
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to meet project schedules and quality expectations
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project and business objectives
