The Finishing Operator is responsible for achieving immediate and short-term production objectives laid down by the Finishing & Hardware Supervisor. This position requires near perfect attendance and punctuality. Employees are expected to be in their department area before the shift starts. Reasonable overtime hours may be required to meet production needs. This position reports directly to the Finishing & Hardware Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Team Player.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must obtain forklift certification within 3 months (on-the-job training provided).
  • Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16".
  • Ability to follow company safety procedures and processes.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year work history or military service with honorable discharge preferred.
  • Must be able to accurately exchange information with co-workers and management.
  • Heavy lifting (50lbs) is required on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials.
  • Ability to remain at workstation for long periods of time while using tools and machinery and performing repetitive actions.
  • Manual dexterity to evaluate, modify and operate machinery and equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Temperature of work environment ranges from 15 - 110°F.
  • Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours subject to change at the discretion of management. Overtime is required, as needed to support production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all parts are produced on time and are of good quality.
  • Paint all welds and any metal as required to meet production standards.
  • Apply labels and bundle products.
  • Assist in measuring products for accuracy.
  • Check products for missed welds and confirm weld quality.
  • Minimize material waste.
  • Responsible for care and preventive maintenance of the equipment in use.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report violations, accidents and near misses to supervisor.
  • Assist in the training of new personnel on safety, production, and quality standards and procedures.
  • Follow instructions given by supervisor.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in your area and the entire facility
  • Other duties as assigned.
