The person who occupies this position is to adjust the finishing equipment in order to process a particular flat carton job orders to meet production goals. The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.

Requirements

  • Education-H.S. Education or equivalent
  • Knowledge-Make-ready operations, computer literate, operator trainee, inspector, packer and palletizer qualified.
  • Minimum of 3 months in an Operator Trainee position
  • Skills-Mechanical, communication.
  • Abilities-Good attendance, guide teams/processes, ability to work shift flexibility and work alone.

Responsibilities

  • Operators are the leaders of the production process tasked with optimizing equipment and staffing to meet production goals.
  • Performs equipment operations, tests, and change-overs of the Folder Gluers associated with converting operations.
  • Is responsible for the quality of the finished product produced by the Folder Gluer.
  • Operators will be responsible for training of support roles within the Finishing Department.
  • Tests and inspects products, performance, configurations, and equipment as required to ensure consistent quality and operational standards are maintained.
  • Verifies and communicates both product standards and work standards to crew to execute production.
  • Maintains equipment by performing minor maintenance, troubleshooting, calibrations, adjustments, repairs, and authorized modifications.
  • Operates all Folder Gluers and related peripheral/supporting equipment for the purpose of manufacturing folding cartons. Maintains equipment.
  • Interprets and documents standards related to equipment and product performance.
  • Support and Develop GPI’s efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
  • Performs other organizational duties as required.
  • Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
  • Supervision for position is random and minimal.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
