About The Position

The Finish Assembler I is responsible for the installation of basic final parts on fire apparatus as called for in the specifications. They are responsible for completing items up to the 90-day assessment in a timely manner while keeping quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally as needed to support department needs.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation of mud flaps, shelves, slide trays, hose bed dividers, and other final parts.
• Reads and understands specs and blueprints to build fire apparatus.
• Utilizes a variety of basic hand tools to complete the installation of final parts to the fire apparatus.
• Utilizes brake press, plasma cutter, DA sander, and other equipment.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
