About The Position

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated Financial Systems Analyst to support a program at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) in Middletown, RI. The candidate will provide diverse financial analysis and management, earned value management (EVM), and associated project management services. An ideal candidate will have experience supporting Navy/DoD customers and using the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy ERP) system. Typical responsibilities include: Prepare diverse financial analyses, summaries, reports, and ad hoc documentation for customer review and acceptance. Example documents include budget forecast analyses, Continuing Resolution (CR) analyses, funding document acceptance and modification requests, Monthly Expenditure Reports, budgetary hierarchy reports, Summary Sources of Revenue (SSR), and Cost Models/Cost Sheet Models. Use, update, and maintain Navy and NUWC financial systems including Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy ERP), Automated Funding Document Acceptance (AFDA), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and SharePoint repositories. Generate draft project management plans, analyses of forecasted budgets, and cost estimation documents. Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) process recommendations and prepare quarterly EVM reports. Analyze financial data to monitor cost reporting, identification of erroneous charges, and cost overruns. Research root cause and implement corrective actions associated with rejected or suspense financial transaction records. Perform Fiscal Year closeout and startup analyses. Provide Service Cost Center (SCC) financial analyses. Location: Full time onsite at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) in Middletown, RI. Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Existing SECRET Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position. A candidate with especially strong, relevant experience but no current clearance may be considered, but a new clearance must be obtained prior to hire. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. At least three (3) years of professional experience providing financial services and associated support in U.S. Navy/NAVSEA/DoD environments. Experience should include: Using current Navy financial systems. Conducting financial transactions in the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy ERP) system. Providing Earned Value Management (EVM) and financial/cost analysis. Developing draft project management plans, definitized tasking documentation, and cost estimates. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience providing financial services and associated support in U.S. Navy/NAVSEA/DoD environments. Experience should include:
  • Using current Navy financial systems.
  • Conducting financial transactions in the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy ERP) system.
  • Providing Earned Value Management (EVM) and financial/cost analysis.
  • Developing draft project management plans, definitized tasking documentation, and cost estimates.
  • Proficiency with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
