The Enterprise Services Section (ESS) of the Solid Waste Division (SWD) is seeking a supervisor (Business and Finance Officer IV) to the lead the Financial Services Unit (FSU) of the Solid Waste Division. As a key member of FSU, you will use your Financial, Accounting, and Supervisory skills to help the different business lines in the Solid Waste Division. This is also an opportunity to work with an established team who exists cohesively in a positive environment. About this Role: In this supervisory position, you will be guiding and managing the FSU team, building positive and supportive relations. You will lead the annual financial audit, coordinating responses with KC Finance & Business Operations Division and Solid Waste staff; maintain Landfill Liability calculations on a yearly basis; coordinate testing and implementation of updated disposal rates in the Paradigm system, on an as needed basis; and collaborate with both internal and external customers in a diverse, inclusive, and supportive work environment. You will be working with numbers doing reconciliations using Excel and other MS Software, solving problems, finding solutions and researching discrepancies. You will also be making recommendations for financial performance and suggesting cost-saving measures. About the Team: The King County Solid Waste Division (KCSWD) is responsible for the public solid waste system that serves the people and communities of unincorporated King County and most cities within King County. KCSWD is the lead King County Agency for delivering Zero Waste of Resources (ZWoR) goal for the region, which will reduce valuable materials sent to the landfill by up to 70%. KCSWD operates the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill, ten transfer facilities, nine closed landfills, and many programs to design out waste and pollution, keep products and materials in use, and regenerate natural systems. ?
