About The Position

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Financial Services Manager to join our team, in Gainesville, FL. This position oversees core financial operations, manages staff, and ensures compliance with organizational policies and deadlines. It provides leadership across accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and revenue cycle functions, driving accuracy and efficiency while supporting the organization’s mission to provide a safe blood supply and exceptional service to the community. The Financial Services Manager will work closely with leadership to analyze financial data, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or financial experience required
  • At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience required
  • Strong Knowledge of Accounting Principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet LifeSouth driving requirements
  • Reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Accounting or related subject matter preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, financial management, or nonprofit environment preferred
  • CPA or CMA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and revenue cycle functions
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate financial services staff
  • Ensure all accounting and reporting deadlines are met and maintain compliance with policies and procedures
  • Manage fixed assets including reporting and monthly depreciation
  • Oversee company credit card program, including issuance, limits, and compliance monitoring
  • Coordinate banking activities including wire transfers, ACH transactions, and account management
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze trends, and implement process improvements
  • Oversee billing, collections, and reconciliation activities
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support audits, year-end processes, and special projects
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Collaborate with internal departments on financial processes, system implementations, and improvements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including 1099 processing and unclaimed property reporting
