Position Summary / Department Summary: The Financial Reporting Analyst II is responsible for providing detailed financial analysis and reporting in support of the hospital's operating financial statements and balance sheet within the Endowment, Investments, and Grants department. In this role, the Financial Reporting Analyst II prepares journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports in accordance with GAAP, supports monthly close and audit activities, responds to ad-hoc data requests, and partners with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in business, Health Care Administration, or a closely related field
  • Experience: Required: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, or a similar setting

Responsibilities

  • Prepare recurring financial transactions, analyses, and reports related to operating statements, balance sheets, intercompany activity, and sub-ledger schedules in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely recording, reconciliation, and correction of assigned accounts and funds
  • Analyze general ledger accounts, cost centers, grants, and special funds; review activity for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness
  • Provide management with explanations and interpretations of financial trends, year-over-year changes, and projected impacts
  • Prepare financial and statistical reports for monthly close, quarterly reviews, year-end audits, regulatory agencies, grant sponsors, donors, and federal oversight entities
  • Utilize multiple financial systems and reporting tools to respond to internal and external ad-hoc requests, producing polished reports with summaries, graphs, and charts as appropriate
  • Collaborate with department managers to support action plans, timelines, and data needs based on financial findings
  • Assist with and lead process improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices within the department
  • Maintain organized supporting documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, trial balances, budget reports, and audit schedules
  • Complete additional projects and assignments as directed by management
