About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting and Accounting Manager to lead financial reporting and technical accounting for a high‑growth public company operating in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Director of External Reporting and Technical Accounting to prepare and review SEC filings, research and document complex accounting matters, and advise on the accounting implications of customer contracts and strategic initiatives. This position partners cross‑functionally with Legal, FP&A, Operations, and external auditors to develop scalable reporting processes and support the company’s continued growth trajectory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience in public company SEC reporting
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, ASC 606, and complex equity/financing transactions
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial modeling
  • Experience with SEC reporting tools (e.g., Workiva, Donnelley, or similar)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle
  • Knowledge of financial consolidation systems (e.g., OneStream, Hyperion)
  • General comfort with automation tools and process‑scaling technologies
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment, including extended periods of computer use
  • Ability to participate in virtual and in‑person meetings
  • Occasional extended hours during reporting cycles (e.g., quarter‑ and year‑end)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and review of Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K, proxy statements, and other SEC registration statements.
  • Evaluate and document accounting conclusions for revenue recognition, customer contracts, and evolving revenue models.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on equity issuances, financings, leases, share‑based compensation, and strategic partnerships.
  • Monitor, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and SEC disclosure requirements.
  • Coordinate financial audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors and technical advisors.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and scalability across financial reporting workflows.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Legal, FP&A, Operations, and executive leadership on strategic initiatives.
