About The Position

Financial Recovery Consultant Competitive Hourly Rate ON-SITE BONUS ELIGIBLE Are yo u interested in being “the good guy” and play a role in the financial success of a 6 billion dollar organization? Can you untangle complex financial situations, and work to recover high dollar, outstanding insurance claims so that our patients are not impacted. Are you comfortable with a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment? Do you have the ability to professionally push back and question given results and ask for more details? The Financial Recovery Consultant has the responsibility to advocate for Select Medical and its Patients. Liaison between other departments within the organization and the CBO management team to facilitate communication of reimbursement policies, procedures, and resolutions to issues causing delays to cash and accounts receivable management.

Requirements

  • Proven and exceptional oral and written communication skills (making outbound calls and receiving inbound calls)
  • Strong organization and follow up skills
  • Excellent problem solving, resolution skills
  • Prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction or supervision (after initial training)
  • Required to be proficient in Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree, relevant health care certification or equivalent experience
  • Previous claims processing experience
  • Stable work history
  • Previous experience with financial applications, account payable or accounts receivables

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve outstanding high-dollar insurance claims and aged accounts.
  • Identify billing issues and work with leadership to find solutions.
  • Analyze payment trends and ensure reimbursements align with contracts.
  • Work with payer representatives to resolve claim disputes.
  • Research state and payer regulations to support collections.
  • Train and support colleagues as needed.
