About The Position

The Financial Planning & Operations Manager is a hybrid project management, process optimization, and financial operations role. This position leads departmental project coordination, improves workflows, drives automation, and increasingly supports financial planning and analysis (FP&A). The role is central to prioritizing work, improving operational efficiency, and producing high‑quality data and insights that strengthen financial decision‑making. The Lead works directly with the CFO and maintains a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Controller

Requirements

2 years accounting/finance experience with demonstrated process improvement work.
Skills in project management, process design, data analysis, Excel, BI tools, workflow documentation, and communication.

Responsibilities

Maintain a prioritized project and task roadmap aligned with enterprise and financial priorities.
Facilitate weekly traffic/priority meetings to align resources, surface blockers, and drive accountability.
Build and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
Identify and escalate cross-functional issues requiring leadership intervention.
Provide consistent communication to the CFO, Controller, and other leaders regarding status, risks, and outcomes.
Document current-state workflows and design improved, optimized future-state processes.
Lead automation initiatives that reduce manual work and eliminate operational waste.
Establish controls and standardized inputs to improve data accuracy and financial reporting.
Convert operational improvements into SOPs, process maps, and repeatable frameworks.
Transition stabilized tasks (such as system administration or recurring workflows) to appropriate long-term owners.
Supporting and developing budgeting and forecasting cycles.
Building financial models for scenario planning and leadership decision support.
Performing variance and trend analysis to identify drivers of financial performance.
Producing monthly/quarterly financial insight packages for leadership.
Delivering actionable, data-driven recommendations to guide financial strategy.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of process and system changes.
Act as a change leader, ensuring teams are informed, trained, and supported throughout transitions.
Maintain a service-oriented mindset focused on responsiveness and internal customer satisfaction.
