About The Position

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for performing/assisting in various monthly and quarterly department financial analysis tasks including, but not limited to, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, product and department profitability, and investment accounting. The Financial Analyst will also complete special analytical projects that require compiling and analyzing large data sets. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Financial Reporting and Analysis: Produce various financial, statistical, and operational analysis as requested by management or other departments in the Credit Union. Analyze financial results, perform variance analysis, and identify key trends. Reconciliation and Transaction Monitoring: Prepare and process monthly journal entries on moderately complex general ledger accounts such as borrowings. Prepare routine account reconciliations to support ending balances. Budget and Profitability Reporting and Analysis: Assist in the preparation of semi-annual operating and capital budgets. Conduct analysis to measure key drivers of profitability across departments and products. Help prepare and maintain profitability reports for senior management and the board. Other Deliverables: Assist in the aggregation of investment data for accounting purposes. Perform peer review/reconciliations of other financial reports to ensure data integrity. Assist in the preparation and construction of the quarterly Call Report and other regulatory reports. Perform close review, analysis, and monthly/quarterly/year-end reporting processes. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with business units across the Credit Union as well as other teams in Finance on recurring and ad hoc projects. Demonstrate flexibility and the willingness to work closely within a team environment. Independence: Work independently on assigned work and in a group environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Less than one year of job-related experience
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals including the ability to analyze and interpret financial statements
  • Capable of working independently on assigned work and in a group environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite with proficiency in excel
