Responsible for analyzing financial data and providing strategic insights to support decision-making across Shelter Insurance Companies. Includes development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the corporate budget, forecasting models, and financial reporting. Assist management, internal business partners, and external vendors with financial inquiries, providing detailed explanations and recommendations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Desire to pursue one of the following professional designations with the first year of employment: CPA, FPAC, AIAF, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, CMA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Analytical and modeling skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite software, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to train and support business partners, troubleshoot problems, and build positive working relationships across the organization.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and consistently meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work additional hours to meet required deadlines and during seasonal periods.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with financial planning software, preference to Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Programming knowledge to allow future automation of processes and advanced financial modeling.
  • Experience with SQL, Snowflake, and Tableau is a plus.
