About The Position

We are looking for a Financial Operations Manager for our client, who is a fast-growing homebuilder in Concord, NC serving Cabarrus County and surrounding communities. The company builds high-quality homes and vibrant developments through innovative design and exceptional craftsmanship. The Financial Operations Manager will own and oversee day-to-day financial operations of the growing construction business. This includes managing accounting functions, improving processes, supporting compliance and HR administration, and serving as a key partner to leadership. You will ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and actionable. This is an in-office role in Concord, NC (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial operations experience
  • Construction, homebuilding, or project-based industry experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online; Buildertrend preferred
  • Advanced Excel and Google Workspace skills
  • Experience managing at least one direct report preferred

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or MBA is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting functions: AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, monthly/annual close
  • Maintain accurate books in QuickBooks Online
  • Support transition from cash basis to GAAP accounting
  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
  • Deliver reporting to leadership and stakeholders
  • Monitor job costing and project-level financial performance
  • Ensure Buildertrend and QuickBooks integration is accurate
  • Develop and document financial processes and internal controls
  • Identify automation opportunities and workflow improvements
  • Support EOS and 90-day planning cycles with accurate financial data
  • Monitor and manage cash flow
  • Support banking relationships and financial documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies
  • Coordinate with external CPA and advisors as needed
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding
  • Manage compliance documentation and employee records
  • Track technology and equipment for new hires
  • Support internal training and operational organization
