About The Position

The Financial Functional Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing and documenting business and/or system processes and requirements for all financial departments and applications. The focus of this position is to work closely with the finance business units and serve as a liaison to gain in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, financial systems, and the context in which the business operates. This role will handle lights on production for financial systems, support financial operations, along with addressing business challenges and improvements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for assessing business problems, consulting industry best practices, and offering creative solutions. Demonstrate strong analytical skills and business process improvement methodologies. Participates in requirements elicitation, analysis, and testing activities for the business technology solutions and or data/reporting efforts and prepares appropriate documentation for each phase. Able to work under time constraints and provide informative updates to department leadership. Writes and executes test plans and scenarios in support of business and technology projects, including integrations with other systems. Participate in cross-functional testing initiatives. Conducts post-deployment smoke testing activities along with change management support. Assists in providing information for cost-benefit analysis (CBA) for project and process initiatives. Facilitates meetings with the department and other business units Ability to collaborate closely with functional stakeholders, end users, and leads on configurations and solutions within Workday and Financial Systems Provides technical support for monthly close process including key reconciliations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems
  • 0-3 years of work experience with finance or accounting
  • Experience in an analytical role preferred
  • Experience implementing financial processes and systems and developing end user training preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to frequent and unexpected changes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and communicate clearly, concisely, and in a manner that connects to a wide audience (i.e., technical, non-technical staff).

Nice To Haves

  • Property and Casualty Insurance industry knowledge a plus.
