About The Position

Position Overview The Financial Data Analyst II plays a key role in supporting our expanding financial planning and analysis (FP&A) capabilities. This position is responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing financial data to provide actionable insights that drive budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making across the organization. You'll build and maintain complex analytical reports, develop executive-level presentations with variance analysis and trend identification, and partner with stakeholders throughout the Credit Union to deliver the financial insights that inform critical business decisions. This role offers the opportunity to help build out FP&A processes and reporting infrastructure while leveraging advanced analytical tools and automation to enhance our planning capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or related field required; 5 years preferred
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Advanced data visualization capabilities (Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms)
  • Database management and SQL skills for extracting and analyzing financial data
  • Programming experience for analytics and automation (e.g., Python, R, VBA)
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial/managerial accounting principles

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in related field or CPA certification
  • Experience building FP&A reporting infrastructure and implementing planning processes
  • Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning, Accounting Center, Prism, or similar FP&A platforms
  • Track record of process automation and workflow optimization using Excel, PowerQuery, Power Automate, or scripting languages
  • Experience partnering with IT, Operations, or other business functions on financial planning and analysis
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate financial insights to executive stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly and quarterly budgeting and forecasting cycles, including variance analysis, trend recognition, and preparation of executive-level presentations and financial commentary
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, and Excel to track budget vs. actuals, forecast accuracy, and key performance metrics
  • Conduct financial research and analysis to support strategic planning, business case development, and decision-making processes
  • Build and optimize financial models, databases, and reporting systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and insights delivery
  • Design and implement process automation solutions to streamline financial reporting workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide analytical support, and deliver timely financial insights
