Position Summary The role of the Financial Counselor reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions. This position is responsible for assisting uninsured patients obtain insurance coverage.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of collection experience, required.
Responsibilities
- Assist uninsured patients apply for health insurance or Medicaid through the health insurance exchange marketplace
- Educate interested patients in correct process of applying and provide information as needed
- Collect payment due by patient via telephone and/or in person
- Maintains frequent contact with the patient/guarantor via telephone, in person, or written correspondence to ensure understanding of billing practices, patient responsibility, and collection policies
