About The Position

Fairview Range is hiring a Financial Counselor for our Financial Services department in Hibbing, MN.
As a Financial Counselor you will be responsible for providing Fairview Range patients an understanding of the billing and insurance processing of their healthcare services. The Financial Counselor will manage both facility and physician accounts in all systems and understand in depth the Registration, Hospital Billing and Clinic Billing functions that are necessary to resolve accounts. They will also be well-versed in collections practices and understanding of the Attorney General Requirements. Financial Advocates will assist patients with insurance applications thru MNsure or other agencies as necessary as well as follow through on said applications. Financial Counselor will also guide patients in all other financial assistance that may be available to them. Financial Counselors are required to follow processes and procedures as provided by their supervisors and/or managers. The position requires critical thinking, research abilities, multi-tasking abilities, time management skills, excellent customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Financial Counselor must have the ability to discuss financial obligations with patients in a professional and confidential manner. They must also maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Schedule: This position will work 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the Day shift.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• 1-year Prior Financial Counseling or Financial Advocate and/or 1-year hospital or clinic billing, or equivalent
• MNsure CERTIFICATION - Must become certified during first MNsure certification after hire date
• HPE (Hospital Presumptive Eligibility) Certification - Must become certified during first MNsure certification after hire date
