About The Position
Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a Financial Counselor I to join their Patient Access / ED Registration team at the Bert Martin’s Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth, supportive, and transparent financial experience for patients and families. The hospital is a nationally recognized leader in pediatric care, part of Central Florida’s most trusted healthcare systems, and is Magnet®-recognized. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years in customer service, financial, or business office setting
Responsibilities
- Gathering and accurately entering patient demographic and insurance information
- Verifying insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations
- Clearly explaining insurance coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and financial responsibilities
- Obtaining required signatures and documentation
- Coordinating with physicians, payers, and internal departments as needed
- Providing compassionate, professional customer service in a fast-paced emergency environment
