About The Position

Intown Golf Club (IGC) is the premier private social club and lifestyle brand for golf enthusiasts. IGC is headquartered in Atlanta and opened its first location there in 2021. IGC has opened multiple clubs since including Charlotte, Columbus, Houston, Nashville, and Philadelphia. Raleigh is slated to open in late 2026. IGC is targeting 2-4 club openings per year in its national expansion. We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Financial Controller with a background in multi-unit and hospitality operations to oversee our accounting operations and ensure the sound financial management of our growing organization. As the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in managing accounting and finance-related activities to support our continued success and growth. You will report directly to the CFO. Additionally, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the following: Managing the accounting team, training new team members to maintain a high-performing and skilled department. Establishing, implementing, and communicating the strategic direction of accounting operations within the organization. Assisting the CFO and Director of Finance to manage and develop financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities to provide valuable insights into the company’s financial performance across all clubs and corporate departments. Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and conducting financial analysis on a monthly and yearly basis to support data-driven decision-making. Advising and assisting in the implementation of accounting and budgeting policies to maintain compliance and financial integrity. Managing deferred revenue and overseeing treasury and cash flow management. Working with managers from various departments to train them on their department financials and support their financial understanding. Identifying financial strengths and weaknesses, as well as potential risks and opportunities, to support strategic planning and growth initiatives. Recommending and implementing new processes and technologies to streamline accounting and finance operations for increased efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a financial administrator or in a similar role within multi-unit and hospitality settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth, fast-paced, and operationally intensive business within the hospitality industry is heavily preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Familiarity with G-Suite and its various applications (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification is preferred, and knowledge of Clubessential and/or Restaurant365 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Record financial transactions, post debits and credits, manage billing, invoicing, expenses, reimbursements, and assist in payroll administration.
  • Efficiently manage daily, weekly, and monthly member payment processing, including membership initiations, membership dues, as well as charges for services and goods.
  • Oversee the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and analyze financial results to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor results against annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights into variances and coding errors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting, including monthly sales tax remittances and annual tax filing.
  • Own treasury and cash management activities.
  • Conduct internal audits and financial risk assessments, proactively implementing intervention strategies to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Resolve accounting and reconciliation issues promptly and maintain inventory and cost control procedures.
  • Handle ad-hoc duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Intown Golf Club, representing our organization with professionalism and passion.
