About The Position

The Controller provides supervision and control of the finance functions with a focus on month/quarter and year-end closing process and planning/budgeting/forecasting. This position customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment making recommendations for courses of action for the business. The controller is a key member of the management team this position coordinates with and prepares reports for the General Manager and upper management.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Skilled in time management and prioritization
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • On-site work required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in a controller position.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the fixed asset system, and calculates and books depreciation while ensuring compliance with corporate policy.
  • Reconciles accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries.
  • Meets strict month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deadlines for journal entries and reporting. : General ledger preparation, monthly and annual financial reporting, preparation of annual budgets, coordination of external and internal audits; and the safeguarding of Company assets.
  • Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company's financial status.
  • Produces and manages balance sheets and analyzes future earnings and expenses.
  • Assists with the management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting with the organization.
  • Assists with preparations for audits.
  • Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to GAAP and any applicable government regulations.
  • Responsible for the site's IT department and activities, ensuring that network infrastructure and programs utilized are functioning properly and in line with Corporate guidelines
  • Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
  • The position will supervise a staff accountant (1 employee) plus IT professionals (2 employees) and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner
