About The Position

We are seeking a Financial Compliance Auditor to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation’s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium. Y-12 supports efforts to reduce nuclear proliferation risk and performs work for other government agencies (energy.gov). ABOUT GEM GEM Technologies, Inc. Requirements

Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Experience performing audits in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors for fieldwork
Experience preparing working paper and audit reporting.

Responsibilities

Perform audits in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors for fieldwork, working paper preparation, and audit reporting.
Analyze and appraise evidentiary data in order to formulate objective opinions on the adequacy of the system of control, the extent of conformity to established accounting policy procedures, and the efficiency and effectiveness of performance of the activities being reviewed.
Determine the allowability/allocability/reasonableness of cost proposed or incurred.
Make adjustments to the original audit program with management approval.
Note potential problem areas not covered in the scope of the audit and write audit need memorandum for the manager or organization audit file.
Prepare working papers in accordance with auditing standards.
