About The Position

The Homeland Sector at Leidos has an exciting opening for a Senior Financial & Business Operations (F&BO) Manager to support our Airports, Borders, & Security business area. We’re looking for a dynamic leader who can work with program personnel/leadership, external customer stakeholders, and Leidos senior leadership. You will manage a staff of analysts supporting a portfolio as well as support special projects, proposal activity, financial reporting and enhancements, AOP planning, and program EAC reviews. You will have a significant impact on process and procedure improvements within the business area. We need a problem solver who can pull together knowledge from a broad range of subjects to produce thorough analyses of complex, challenging issues, and use those analyses to find solutions. The role requires the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team across various organizational levels, while effectively managing multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years prior financial operation related experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience leading and managing high performing teams
  • Comprehensive Program Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis experience; familiar with multiple contract types
  • Detail oriented, independent worker, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must have strong Microsoft Excel and government contracting experience
  • Proposal development, price strategy and business case analysis experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Leidos Financial Systems and Contract Setup Processes
  • Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence and Insight

Responsibilities

  • Advise management on all financial aspects of their domain, including developing and driving financial forecasts, analyzing revenue and costs, and providing counsel to facilitate informed decisions and drive financial results.
  • Partner with Program Management to ensure financial compliance, cost management, budget development, and proposal support, while managing and developing a team of business finance professionals.
  • Communicate key business insights and recommendations to achieve current and future goals, making specific recommendations for cost reduction and profit/process improvements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate complex information at both detailed and executive summary levels, tailoring messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Deliver results with significant influence on financial performance and strategic direction, managing projects and initiatives that span multiple functions, including AI adoption for financial operations, data strategy, and growth enablement.
  • Leverage AI-driven analytics and intelligent automation to improve financial accuracy, accelerate decision-making, and drive strategic business growth.
  • Interpret operating results, evaluate and approve expenditure decisions, and identify operational risk factors.
  • Manage the month-end close process and perform variance/trend analyses.
  • Support and drive program growth initiatives, and develop relationships with external customers, operating as a business partner to improve financial performance.
  • Create business cases inclusive of financial modeling and strategy implementation.
  • Evaluate, oversee, and implement policies, practices, and operational performance standards for the Business Operations team.
