About The Position

Apex is seeking a Financial Business Analyst to support the ongoing development and management of our enterprise pricing model and growth strategy. Working under the Director of Finance, and in close collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO) and Director of Commercial Operations (DOCO), this role will help maintain and enhance pricing tools, monitor key performance metrics, provide analytical support for deal evaluations and pricing initiatives, and support the broader business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, data-driven, and eager to grow their commercial and analytical skills within a fast-paced professional services environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or business analytics
  • Professional services or project-based industries experience required, AEC preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel required; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, DOMO, etc.) preferred
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to present and clearly communicate insights and support decision-making with sound data analytics
  • Strong preference for candidates able to work Eastern Time Zone hours

Responsibilities

  • Supporting DOCO in maintaining and updating pricing databases, inputs, and driver tables to ensure data accuracy
  • Conduct analyses to identify pricing trends, inconsistencies, or opportunities for improvement
  • Organize data to allow for win theme analysis, predictive pricing using historic pricing data, and overall updates to the pricing model
  • Support rollout and management of the pricing strategy by preparing pricing analyses, margin summaries, and variance reports for review
  • Expand model/tool to incorporate all Apex sub-practice areas
  • Track non-standard pricing requests and maintain records of deal approvals and outcomes
  • Help monitor adherence to pricing guardrails and identify deviations for escalation
  • Assist with the integration and training of newly acquired businesses and service lines into the enterprise pricing model
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports tracking pricing performance, deal quality, discounting behavior, and margin attainment
  • Prepare recurring pricing KPI reports for Sales, Finance, PMO, Regional, and Executive Leadership teams
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to support pricing strategy updates or margin improvement initiatives
  • Assist in modeling the financial impact of price changes on win-loss percentage, revenue and profitability
  • Help interpret results and prepare summary insights for leadership presentations
  • Provide analytical support to Sales and Ops teams during proposal development
  • Research competitive benchmarks and market price trends to inform pricing
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for price governance and commercial operations processes
  • Help document best practices and maintain the central pricing resource library
  • Work with Operations to ensure project data feeds accurately into pricing and profitability reports
  • Collaborate with IT/Analytics to improve data automation, development and rollout of a web-based pricing tool, and dashboarding processes
  • Support Director of PMO in data analysis to support routine project reviews, project monitoring and execution analysis
  • Support DOCO in pricing strategy and performance modeling
