About The Position

The Financial Analyst must possess a deep understanding of USGAAP with exceptional data analytical skills. The candidate will leverage their accounting expertise and analytical abilities to conduct complex financial analyses, interpret financial data, reconcile data sets and provide strategic recommendations based on their findings. For example, the candidate will be responsible for the correction and maintenance of financial & inventory data sets to provide reliable data-based financial reporting on which to make decisions. The Financial Analyst will utilize their analytical, statistical, financial, and system skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets. They then use this information to identify system/data challenges and execute their correction, support decision making and future SAP mitigation. The Financial Analyst will extract and analyze data from business systems (MS Dynamics GP, ASCTrac, and SAP) to reconcile, perform data adjustments (as necessary) within the business systems, support audit compliance, implement business processes to support financial data integrity and accuracy efforts, and translate complex concepts to make them understandable by different audiences. S/he will ensure that data is clearly defined, consistent, and available. Meet developing business needs and driving efficiency while conforming to regulatory requirements for data integrity and security. The candidate will work closely with various departments within the organizations to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes. This includes participating in ad-hoc cross-functional projects, providing financial and data analytical expertise, and contributing to the overall company data alignment strategy.

Requirements

• BS in a scientific/engineering/business/finance/accounting discipline.
• One or more years of industrial experience, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in data mining and data analytics.
• Experience in inventory management and/or enterprise resource & planning systems (ERP).
• Demonstrated project management ability with good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with SAP and/or system implementation is highly desired.

Nice To Haves

• While not mandatory, a CPA certification is highly preferred.
• MBA preferred.
• Knowledge of biotech or pharmaceutical industry practices and regulations, or work history within other regulated industries is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Pull and analyze cross-system data sets to check alignment.
• Review contracts for correct revenue recognition.
• Monitor existing system data for anomalies against expected results.
• Perform adjustments as required to ensure data accuracy & integrity.
• Ensure documentation of adjustments for reconciliation of changes.
• Act as a cross-functional liaison for data investigations and adjustments requiring input from outside of the finance organization.
• Provide audit support as needed.
