About The Position

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Financial Analyst gathers and analyzes financial and project data from approved systems, performs accounting reviews and forecasting, compares plan vs. actual spending, and provides recommendations using Microsoft Office tools to support decision-making

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required.
  • Typically requires one to two (1-2) years of financial analysis or accounting experience, including use of ERP/DoD systems, transaction review, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • Current, active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze financial and project data using approved automated systems and applications such as ERP, DTS, EDW, PET, TAAT, and NEPS.
  • Use double-entry bookkeeping principles to support financial metrics, account balancing, and transaction accuracy reviews.
  • Review transaction lists for content accuracy, trends, and anomalies.
  • Perform data entry into approved DoD systems such as ERP, PET, TAAT, and online collaboration tools.
  • Research historical financial data and forecast quarterly and annual spending.
  • Compare plan vs. actual expenditures and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Create metrics, flow charts, and reports to support program/project decision-making.
  • Use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, PowerBI) to analyze data and present findings.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
