About The Position

The Financial Analyst position is with Advocate Health, the third-largest nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, formed by the combination of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. This full-time, benefits-eligible role is within the 13437 Enterprise Corporate - Financial Planning department and operates on a hybrid work schedule. The analyst will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, developing and maintaining financial models, conducting various financial analyses, and supporting budgeting and cost accounting functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis or accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial systems, and BI tools

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, cost reports, and statistical data
  • Develop and maintain cash forecasting, capital planning, and treasury models
  • Conduct benchmarking, KPI analysis, and variance reporting
  • Support budgeting, cost accounting, and productivity standards
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses (e.g., program reviews, reconciliation variances, business development assessments)
  • Apply government reimbursement rules (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid) to financial activities
  • Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Mentor accounting staff and support financial systems training
  • Research and document technical accounting issues
  • Present complex financial information to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • May lead or coordinate financial projects
