Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Job related experience for 0 - 3 years preferred.
  • Ability to apply independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard business analysis techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: Advanced finance, accounting, and business principles, practices, nomenclature and procedures
  • Computer spreadsheets (Excel), word processing programs (MS Word)
  • General economic principles

Responsibilities

  • Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work environment.
  • Provides Economic Value Added (EVA) based financial analysis for new and potential projects.
  • Creates financial models on Excel spreadsheets for analysing and solving new and unique business problems and/or opportunities.
  • Updates calculations for customer pricing for items related to contract administration and changes in customer cost components (e.g. LME administration, PPI, changes to ingot conversion cost, etc.)
  • Presents to management the results of the analysis of business situations.
  • Participates in the design of standardized reporting of plant costs and KPI’s.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
  • Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility.
  • Participates in Process Improvement activities as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company.  Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.
