About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic Financial Analyst to join our high-performing finance team located onsite in our Madison, CT office. This is a key role in supporting the financial health and performance of projects throughout their lifecycle. This position works closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment, with strong communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in project accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role (industry-specific experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and project financial cycles.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP/project management systems (e.g., SAP, Deltek, Procore, PMWeb) a plus.
  • Excellent organization skills & ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables effectively and deliver results on time.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into clear insights, tailored to the audience.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams and executive decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and change management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong financial modeling ability.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Project Financial Management: Maintain and monitor financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and reporting for multiple projects/clients. Review project contracts, change orders, and scope documents to ensure financial compliance. Track project costs, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoices to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved budgets. Support project closeout procedures, including final billing, cost reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Develop monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reports for Project Managers and leadership. Identify financial risks or opportunities and recommend corrective actions. Assist with KPI dashboards and performance summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and contractual requirements. Coordinate with internal and external auditors as needed. Maintain financial documentation and project files to support audit readiness.
  • Collaboration & Support: Partner with Project Managers to review project performance and discuss variances. Provide guidance on financial procedures, estimating, and cost management. Support the Finance team during month-end close, accruals, and adjustments.
