The Naval Power Finance Organization is seeking an early-career Financial Analyst to support financial tracking and reporting for Tomahawk capacity and acceleration initiatives. This role builds foundational skills in program cost control, monthly forecasting, Earned Value basics, and cross-functional collaboration. Analysts in this role help ensure accurate and timely financial information to support Test Equipment upgrades, obsolescence redesign activities, supplier rate-readiness efforts, and other capacity-related investments across the Tomahawk portfolio. Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or related field or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Less than 2 years of finance/accounting experience (internships or co-ops welcomed).
  • At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, including pivot tables and chart creation.
  • Strong interest in developing skills in forecasting, variance analysis, and Earned Value fundamentals.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and support implementation of corrective actions.
  • Interest in learning about production and manufacturing-focused programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly cost and schedule tracking for Tomahawk munitions capacity and acceleration investments.
  • Assist with collecting, validating, and organizing data for monthly forecasts and reporting updates.
  • Prepare initial variance explanations and support development of weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial analyses.
  • Contribute to the development of quarterly EACs by gathering inputs from engineering, operations, contracts, and supply chain teams.
  • Draft cost and schedule charts for Program Management Reviews and other financial presentations.
  • Support preparation of contractually required cost reporting artifacts, including portions of funding or cost-status summaries.
  • Learn foundational Earned Value (EV) concepts by assisting with schedule and cost performance reviews.
  • Provide responsive support for ad-hoc financial requests, data clean-up, and basic modeling activities.
  • Attend program team meetings to document key actions, follow-ups, and financial inputs.
