About The Position

Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts, industry practices and standards to the development, interpretation, and implementation of complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control. Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems requiring independent judgment and ingenuity to modify procedures and identify new approaches relative to financial planning and control. Management applies only general direction, generally in the area of resolving complex problems and results expected. Coordinates with mid-level management and others to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements, government requirements, and operating forecasts. Researches and prepares economic reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements. Defines systems specifications, develops and installs PC databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts. Functions as project leader, when assigned, and provides technical leadership to others as required. Conducts special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action. Interprets and applies complex corporate financial policies, government legislation, accounting theory or customer financial regulations. Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements. Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance. Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly. Prepares studies, reports, and analysis in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts. Contributes to development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements. Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Finance, Accounting, Economics or another appropriate discipline.
  • 4-6 or more years Related experience and/or training.
  • Communicates effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
  • Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Graduate Degree. Master of Business Administration or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Public Accounting experience may be weighted heavier than Private Accounting.
