The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, with experience in the health care and/or insurance industries. Location: Remote

Requirements

  • Requires extensive knowledge of accounting and financial analysis principles, theories, and techniques of accounting acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Finance or Accounting.
  • Five years of progressively responsible work experience with a minimum of three years direct financial analyst experience.
  • Analytical ability to find solutions to financial accounting and data problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting degree with CPA preferred.
  • Health care experience preferred
  • Insurance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs the more complex financial functions related to the health insurance products maintained by the Health System including claims reserves, forecasting by product line, external reporting, and special projects.
  • Oversees Health Insurance statutory reporting and tax return preparation with assistance from outside vendors.
  • Statutory financial reporting.
  • Accounting close entries and reconciliations.
  • Updating actuarial lag schedules, data gather and analysis for various payments and claims.
  • Effectively manage close, quarterly/annual reporting, budgeting/forecasting.
