The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, with experience in the health care and/or insurance industries. Location: Remote
Requirements
- Requires extensive knowledge of accounting and financial analysis principles, theories, and techniques of accounting acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Finance or Accounting.
- Five years of progressively responsible work experience with a minimum of three years direct financial analyst experience.
- Analytical ability to find solutions to financial accounting and data problems.
Nice To Haves
- Accounting degree with CPA preferred.
- Health care experience preferred
- Insurance experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs the more complex financial functions related to the health insurance products maintained by the Health System including claims reserves, forecasting by product line, external reporting, and special projects.
- Oversees Health Insurance statutory reporting and tax return preparation with assistance from outside vendors.
- Statutory financial reporting.
- Accounting close entries and reconciliations.
- Updating actuarial lag schedules, data gather and analysis for various payments and claims.
- Effectively manage close, quarterly/annual reporting, budgeting/forecasting.
